The Palm Springs Women’s Jazz and Blues Association, Inc. exists to preserve and foster an appreciation of jazz and blues music, and to support female jazz and blues musicians who traditionally struggle for recognition and employment. The Palm Springs Jazz Festival includes concerts, exhibits, presentations, films and other events that promote an understanding and enjoyment of the work of women artists. Since 2013, the Festival has provided safe and welcoming venues for female jazz and blues musicians who have yet to receive the visibility, equitable treatment and professional performance opportunities they so clearly deserve.
